Lots of Family Fun This Saturday! Come See Us!

08/13/2026

Good morning everyone! It's been an exciting summer at the library and we are looking forward to a fun fall as well. We had a RECORD number of completions for the summer reading program this year!

Couple quick things. Our new full-time manager MaryAnn is starting next week and we are so looking forward to her joining our staff. She already works at the Ferdinand Library as well so she knows our system in and out! Please be kind and patient as she gets to know the community and sets up our fall schedule! She is one of the most tech savvy people I know so she is going to be a great addition to our little but mighty library. Ally will still be working some Tuesdays and Saturday as well!

Thank you also to the caring "Birdseye Outreach Club" crew in town and Masterbrand who surprised us with a NEW Little Free Pantry. What a wonderful gift! We do ask that the box be used only for non-perishable food items at this time as that was our most identified need when the box was originally installed and still is to this day. While we appreciate that the community has other things to donate to those in need, the blessings box is intended for food items. If you feel more comfortable leaving your food donations inside the library please feel free to stop by during library hours and we will take care of the rest. What a wonderful blessing it is!

Finally, please be sure to visit the Picnic next Saturday. We have Animal Tales coming at 10:00 AM and Non and Pop Balloons coming from 2:00-4:00 PM. We will also have crafts and giveaways happening inside the library between 10:00 AM-2:00 PM. Let's have a great fall!

Again, thank you all for your help during our transition phase this summer! We appreciate Logan and AmyJo so much for helping out all summer long to make sure we didn't miss a beat with programming and fun! See you all at the picnic!

Sincerely,

Christine Golden
JDCPL Director
