Huffman Academy Huffman Academy opened in August of 2011 as a Pre-K through 5th grade elementary school. The school is located on the northeastern side of Birmingham, Alabama.

The campus sits less than .5 miles off Parkway East.

Learning isn't just for our scholars! Today, Huffman Academy's Kindergarten Team participated in an engaging professional development session called ABC Ready!

Our teachers were actively engaged, collaborating, learning new strategies, and strengthening their instructional practices to better support our youngest Vikings! 🧡💚

A Celebration of Culture, Heritage, and Unity at Huffman Academy!

What a wonderful way to wrap up Hispanic Heritage Month! 🧡💚

On Friday, our Huffman Academy Viking Family came together for a beautiful celebration of Hispanic culture, traditions, and heritage! From our colorful parade and beautiful traditional attire representing our families’ native countries to the DELICIOUS authentic dishes generously prepared and shared with our faculty and staff, it was truly a celebration to remember!

Our scholars, families, and staff had an amazing time celebrating the rich cultures and diversity that make Huffman Academy such a special place! ❤️

A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU to our phenomenal ESL Department, Mrs. De Souza and Mrs. Cardona, for organizing and hosting such a wonderful celebration! Your hard work, dedication, and attention to detail made this event a huge success!

We also extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to our amazing families for sharing your culture, traditions, food, and heritage with us. You helped make this celebration truly unforgettable!

Congratulations to Huffman Academy’s 2026–2027 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Adriane Robinson! 💚🧡

Mrs. Robinson is so much more than an outstanding classroom teacher! As our Second Grade Team Leader, she consistently goes above and beyond to support her colleagues, mentor new team members, and collaborate with teachers and staff throughout our school. Her willingness to lend a helping hand, share her expertise, and lead with kindness makes her an invaluable part of our Viking Family!

At Huffman Academy, we are truly blessed to have leaders who don't just talk about supporting our schools—they SHOW UP and SHOW OUT!

We want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to our District 1 School Board Representative and Birmingham City Schools Board President, Sherman Collins for his unwavering support of our Viking Family!

Mr. Collins recently stopped by to support our Tie Tuesday initiative, and he didn't just come for a photo opportunity! He arrived bright and early, jumped right into our morning carline, and greeted our scholars as they started their day. He then spent time pouring words of leadership, encouragement, and empowerment into our young men, reminding them of the greatness within them!

Whether it's supporting our programs, encouraging our teachers and staff, or investing in our scholars, Mr. Collins consistently answers the call!

🔴🟠🟡 Huffman Academy Celebrated International Dot Day! 🟢🔵🟣

This past Tuesday, our Viking Family came decked in their dots to celebrate International Dot Day! 🎨

Inspired by the book, The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds, we were reminded that a simple dot can spark creativity, courage, and the belief that everyone has something special to share. The story follows Vashti, a student who discovers her artistic potential when her teacher encourages her to make her mark.

A HUGE thank you to our amazing families and staff for participating and making this day so colorful and fun! Your creativity and school spirit make Huffman Academy shine! 🧡💚
