The 3rd pillar is the Individual Student Experience. As your Vice President of Communications, students will be able to gain experience that can take their resume to a higher level. I plan to help incoming students know what resources are available to them on campus.

The 2nd pillar of my platform focuses on Campus Unity and Community. As VP of Communications, I hope to positively change USGA’s image on campus. Students need to be informed promptly so opportunities will not be limited.

Greetings. My name is Marcus Curry Jr., and I am a second-year Political Science major hailing from LaFayette, Alabama. Today, I am very proud to announce my official campaign to serve as your UAB USGA Vice President of Communications for the 2022- 2023 academic year.

I am a member of the UAB Gospel Choir, The National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and I currently serve as Marketing Chair within Second Year Experience (SYE). This academic year, I have the distinct honor to serve as a Senator representing the College of Arts and Sciences. I have an undeniable passion for service and a love for UAB. Therefore, as Vice President of Communications, I will continue to practice servant leadership and concern for every student. I am confident in my ability and my ongoing platform "Conquer with Curry."

"Conquer with Curry" is a campaign that strives to help UAB Students successfully reach and exceed the blazer standard for excellence.

The second pillar of my platform is Campus Unity and Community. I will Advocate initiatives that bring organizations and schools together. While UAB is the most diverse college campus in the state and offers over 250 clubs and organizations on engage. Our leadership must reflect those numbers. As Senator, I will advocate for a more diverse SGA. SGA should not be a one-view club, but an organization composed of a diverse range of students. I will Push for a program for student business owners to highlight their business/services and more on-campus dining options. 🐉
