Excited to introduce the Cumberland Democrat Executive Board!

Special shoutout to our 1L Representative Bailey Tillman:

She is from Tuscaloosa, AL, and graduated from the University of Alabama in December 2023 with a Bachelor’s in History. Bailey joined the Cumberland Democrats because she wanted the chance to engage in positive political action, education, and advocacy. The political literacy of every voting American is important to her, regardless of political affiliation.

During her undergraduate studies, Bailey chose to pursue a legal career after recognizing the influence of history on the law and the impact she could have on those with fewer opportunities. After law school, her goal is to serve and educate others through work in Public Interest, and hopefully one day, she will work in the federal government as a judge or in policy.

We can’t wait to see what this year holds and we hope to see you all at the next general body meeting!

Happy Black History Month!

Historic. That is the word to describe what it means for Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson to be confirmed to the highest court in the land. President Biden has helped provide the Court with one of its most well qualified nominees in decades.

We want to thank Cumberland Alumnus Doug Jones for helping Justice Jackson through this nomination process that has been filled with baseless attacks on her record and beliefs. We are disappointed that Senator Shelby and Tuberville ignored Judge Jackson’s impeccable experience and record by voting no.
