Markus Snowden Pelham City Council Hey y’all, I’m Markus Snowden. I grew up down in Louisiana (Duck Dynasty country) and have called Pelham home for almost three decades now.

Pelham resident for nearly 30 years • Engineer & project manager • Running for City Council Place 4 • Focused on fiscal responsibility, public safety, and strong schools This city has given me so much. It’s where my family put down roots, where I’ve made lifelong friends, and where I want to see the next generation thrive. I’ve spent my career in engineering and construction, managing big projects and making sure teams work together to get the job done right and on budget. I want to bring that same common-sense approach to the City Council: keeping Pelham fiscally responsible, supporting all of the city’s departments including our police and fire departments, investing in our schools, and making sure our growth works for everyone all the while maintaining the values that make our home place special. I care about people, I listen, and I work hard to do what’s right. On September 23rd, I’d be honored to earn your vote for Pelham City Council Place 4.

Had the opportunity to enjoy a great meal in relaxing setting this evening. If you have not had an opportunity to dine Smiley Brothers Specialty Foods 🥩🍗🍖 at 214 Huntley Parkway, then you need to make time for real!! Man it was good‼️ Very friendly and knowledgeable(Emily) staff made the visit even more enjoyable. For great sandwiches and specialty meats and w**e, We have it here in Pelham!!!

🚧 HIGHWAY 261 UPDATE! 🚧

If you’ve been waiting to see this project move forward, we’ve reached a BIG milestone as announced by our City Manager recently.

After years of due diligence and hard work, all 69 right-of-way acquisitions for the Highway 261 widening project are now complete. Some of those acquisitions took years and even ended up in court, but they are finally behind us.

So what’s coming up next?

➡️ The project is now in the utility relocation design phase.
➡️ The project is scheduled to go out for bid in 2027.

And this is truly a regional multi-government partnership. This $39.3 million project is receiving funding support from the following government entities listed below 👇🏽:

🇺🇸 $33.3M Federal Funds
🏛️ $4M State Funds
🏙️ $675K City of Pelham
🏙️ $675K City of Helena
🏙️ $675K City of Hoover
🏛️ $675K Shelby County

This project has taken patience, persistence and a lot of work behind the scenes. But we are getting closer.

Highway 261 is one of the most important infrastructure projects for our community and our region, and seeing it move into the next phase is exciting and all of the city, state and federal government personnel involved are deserving of our support and thanks 😊

What’s in the proposed FY 2027 budget for Pelham residents?

🛣️ More funding for street paving
🌲 New trails and a trailhead at Blueberry Hill
🚆 Progress toward eliminating two at-grade railroad crossings
💧 Continued investment in water, sewer and drainage infrastructure
🚒 Improvements to public safety facilities

The proposal focuses on maintaining City services, completing projects already underway and investing in improvements that affect residents’ daily lives.
