BISHOP CISD POLICE DEPARTMENT

HOMECOMING โ€œPRANKโ€ WARNING TO PARENTS AND STUDENTS

Homecoming is a time to show Bishop Badger Pride, not engage in criminal conduct. Trespassing, Criminal Mischief in the form of Vandalism or Property damage, Harassment, and other unlawful acts will not be tolerated.

The Bishop CISD Police Department, in partnership with local law enforcement agencies, will assist in investigating any reported criminal incidents. Those involved in criminal activity, whether committing or assisting in the unlawful act, are subject to criminal charges and may be arrested.

Parents, please speak with your children about accountability and making responsible choices.

Being a Bishop Badger means representing your school and community with pride, respect, and integrity. Your actions are a reflection of you, your school, and your community.

Badger Pride is earned through actions, not excuses. Donโ€™t let a senior โ€œprankโ€ become a life long criminal record.

TO REPORT SUSPICIOUS OR CRIMINAL ACTIVITY:

Bishop CISD Police Department (Non-Emergency): 361-584-7039

Bishop Police Department (Non-Emergency): 361-584-2443

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿšจ

The Bishop Police Department has received numerous complaints regarding ongoing acts of vandalism, property damage, and individuals intentionally damaging vehicles and personal property throughout our community.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

What some may consider a joke or harmless fun is causing real damage, financial burdens, and frustration for our citizens. This behavior is unacceptable and WILL NOT be tolerated.

Parents and guardians: We strongly encourage you to speak with your children about the seriousness of these actions. Being a juvenile does not excuse criminal behavior, and actions have consequences.

Our citizens work hard for what they have, and no one should have to worry about their vehicles, homes, or property being damaged.

We are asking our community to report suspicious activity and provide any available surveillance footage that may assist in identifying those responsible.

๐Ÿš”๐Ÿ’™ BISHOP POLICE DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCEMENT ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿš”

The Bishop Police Department regrets to announce that we will not be hosting National Night Out this year due to ongoing departmental transitions and organizational changes.

While we are disappointed to miss this opportunity to connect with our community, our commitment to serving and building strong relationships with our citizens remains our top priority.

We appreciate your continued patience and support as we move forward into a new chapter.

๐Ÿ’™ We look forward to bringing National Night Out back bigger and better in the future!

๐ŸŒง๏ธ INCLEMENT WEATHER REMINDER ๐ŸŒง๏ธ

With inclement weather moving through our area, the Bishop Police Department will be actively monitoring weather and roadway conditions throughout the community.

We ask everyone to please use extra caution while traveling. Slow down, allow additional stopping distance, avoid flooded roadways, and give yourself a little extra time to reach your destination.

๐Ÿš” Our officers will be out monitoring road conditions and responding as needed. If you donโ€™t have to be on the road during severe weather, the safest place may be right where you are.

Turn Around, Donโ€™t Drown! Never attempt to drive through a flooded roadwayโ€”you never know how deep the water is or if the roadway underneath has been compromised.

Please stay weather-aware, drive safely, and look out for one another.

Stay safe, Bishop! ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿšจ SLOW DOWN FOR A SAFER TOMORROW ๐Ÿšจ

You may have noticed something new around town! The Bishop Police Department has installed a new speed feedback sign to help remind drivers to check their speed and slow down.

This is just the beginning โ€” two additional speed feedback signs will be installed in the near future at other locations throughout our community.

Our goal is simple: keeping our kids and community safe. ๐Ÿ’™ Whether our children are walking to school, riding their bikes, playing outside, or crossing the street, we want everyone to make it home safely.

Please slow down, stay alert, and watch your speed. A few miles per hour can make a big difference.

๐Ÿš” Slow Down for a Safer Tomorrow.

Bishop Police Departmentโ€™s K9 Aida has received donation of body armor

Bishop Police Department, TX - K9 Aida has received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9 Aidaโ€™s vest was embroidered with the sentiment โ€œIn memory of Don Fikeโ€.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., established in 2009, is a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. This potentially lifesaving body armor for four-legged K9 officers is U.S. made, custom fitted, and National Institute of Justice (NIJ) certified. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has provided over 6,513 vests valued at $6.9 million to K9s in all 50 states, made possible by both private and corporate donations.

The program is open to U.S. dogs at least 20 months old and actively employed and certified with law enforcement or related agencies. K9s with expired vests are also eligible to participate. There are an estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9s throughout the United States.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., accepts tax-deductible contributions in any amount, while a single donation of $1,050 will sponsor one vest. Each vest has a value of $1800.00, weighs an average of 4-5 lbs., and comes with a five-year warranty. For more information or to learn about volunteer opportunities, please call (508) 824-6978.
