🚒 Fire Response – Chalfant Valley

At approximately 12:06 this afternoon, units from the Chalfant Valley Fire Department, CAL FIRE, U.S. Forest Service, and White Mountain Fire Department responded to a report of black smoke in the foothills northeast of Chalfant Valley.

Upon arrival, crews discovered that an overheated vehicle had ignited nearby vegetation, starting a small vegetation fire. Firefighters quickly contained the fire, which burned approximately ¼ acre. Unfortunately, the vehicle was a total loss.

🔥 A big thank you to all of the assisting agencies for their quick response, teamwork, and continued support. We’re grateful to have such dedicated fire partners serving our communities.

Judd’s impact on the EMS system throughout Inyo and Mono counties was profound. He dedicated himself to serving others with unwavering compassion, integrity, and professionalism. He was always willing to lend a hand, share his knowledge, mentor the next generation, and lead by example. More than a provider, Judd was a teacher, a leader, and someone who defined what it meant to treat everyone with respect.

The legacy he leaves behind will continue to be seen in the countless lives he touched, the providers he helped shape, and the communities he served so faithfully. His loss is immeasurable and will be deeply felt by his EMS family, the residents of Inyo and Mono counties, and everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Porta tank training this evening. This collapsible reservoir is used in rural and wildland firefighting to create instant water supplies where fire hydrants are unavailable. They allow tanker trucks to quickly dump their water on-site and immediately leave to refill, ensuring a continuous supply of water for the fire engines.
