🗳️ What's on the ballot this November?

North Dakota voters will decide on two statewide ballot measures during the November 3 general election.

Measure 1 proposes increasing the percentage of votes required to approve an amendment to the North Dakota Constitution from 50% to 60%.

Measure 2 proposes amending the North Dakota Constitution to require public schools to provide one free breakfast and lunch to students, with costs reimbursed by the state. Nonpublic schools, Bureau of Indian Education schools, and other tribal schools would have the option to opt-in to the program. Funding would come from the Legacy Earnings Fund if the Legislative Assembly cannot identify another funding source.

But how do these measures get on the ballot in the first place?

Learn about both measures, what a "Yes" or "No" vote means, and the different ways ballot measures can be proposed in North Dakota.
