Last night's Board of Education Meeting was Bixby East Elementary's time to shine with a site highlight! Please enjoy sweet these snapshots and a wonderful message from our crew at EE!

From our littlest learners to our tallest, East Elementary is a place where learning comes to life! From hands-on experiments and exciting STEM activities to cozy reading moments and engaging classroom lessons, our students are always busy exploring, creating, and discovering something new.

Learning isn't limited to a desk! Our students read, investigate, collaborate, create, play, and grow together. Whether they're working with friends, getting creative on a project, enjoying a good book, learning through technology, or making memories on the playground, something is always happening at East.

Most importantly, these pictures show what makes East so special: happy kids, dedicated teachers, meaningful learning, and a whole lot of fun.

It's , Spartans, and our very own Mr. Dansby is what's up! 🚀

We are thrilled to announce that Mr. Traeton Dansby, our District STEM Coordinator, was recently named a 2026 Siegfried Excellence in STEM Education Award finalist in the Leadership category! The prestigious awards, presented by the Tulsa Regional STEM Alliance, recognize outstanding Oklahoma educators who are making an extraordinary impact in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education.

Mr. Dansby’s impact on STEM education reaches far beyond the walls of BPS. Under his leadership, Bixby has built Oklahoma’s largest and fastest-growing robotics program, serving more than 200 students and including our 6,000-square-foot Innovation Hub and an international VEX IQ Signature Event. He is also the youngest-ever inductee into the VEX STEM Hall of Fame.

But what makes Mr. Dansby’s work especially meaningful is his commitment to making STEM accessible to every student. His Girls and Gears initiative increased female participation in Bixby robotics by 125%, and his work with rural schools across Oklahoma has helped secure more than $50,000 in robotics equipment for underserved communities.

From coaching a third-grade robotics team to a World Championship to helping bring 60 teams from across the United States and abroad to Tulsa for the FrostByte Frenzy International Signature Event, Mr. Dansby continues to show our students what is possible when curiosity, innovation, and opportunity come together.
