A Note About Children

This evening is designed for parents and guardians to have time to connect with teachers and learn about their student’s school experience. An adults-only evening is encouraged when possible, but we understand that finding childcare can be challenging!

If your children need to join you, please keep the following in mind:

Current BDE students are welcome to attend with their parent/guardian. Students must remain with their adult for the entire evening. Quiet activities will be available in classrooms during presentations.

Younger siblings are also welcome, but must remain with their parent/guardian at all times.

On-site childcare is not available.

We look forward to seeing you and kicking off a wonderful school year together!

Black Diamond Elementary had a great first full week of school together! This week, our kindergartners started and so much learning is happening. We hope everyone has a great, long weekend! See you at Black Diamond Labor Days!

08/31/2026

At the Enumclaw Pro Rodeo this weekend, the youngest horses entered the arena for the very first time — and Black Diamond Elementary was there in the stands.

Today, we do the same: our youngest students join the school for their very first day of kindergarten.

New ground, a few nerves, and a whole herd ready to welcome them in. Welcome to kindergarten, class of 2039. 💎🐴

It’s only the first day of school, and a few items have already made their way to our Lost and Found! Please make sure your child’s name is clearly written on their lunchbox, water bottle, coat, and other belongings. This makes it much easier for us to return lost items to their owners.

Last year, several large bags of unclaimed items had to be donated because they had no names. Thank you for helping us keep belongings with the students they belong to!

We can’t wait to see you at our back to school Meet the Teacher event! We will be accepting children’s book donations for our little free library in the cafeteria. These can be picture books, non fiction books, chapter books, or any other awesome books that BDE students would be excited to read! 📚 🦊 🍦

Black Diamond Elementary is celebrating one of our former students! ⚾✨

Soundview Little League (Tacoma) won the Washington State Championship and has advanced to the Northwest Regional Tournament in San Bernardino, CA. The winner of the Northwest Region will earn a spot in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA later this month!

Black Diamond Elementary is so proud of all the players and coaches for the immense amount of hard work, perseverance, and focus that goes into an accomplishment like this. We are proud to have our state and school district represented on such a big stage!

Good luck against Idaho! 🏆
