Update and reminder: An early Halloween celebration, wear a fun or scary costume! Please join in for the October Liberal Drinking event at Howlin Wind Brewing & Blending in Rollinsville on Wednesday Oct 14 from 5:30pm. The purpose of this event is to build community through interacting with your neighbors, sharing experiences, and learning how to get involved with our organization if you so desire.

The Back on the Train food truck will be open and serving from their fantastic and creative menu. Non-alcoholic beverages are always an option.

Come solo or bring a friend. All are welcome! Political talk is optional. Meeting your neighbors is not. This is a fun gathering of people who care about you and our community who work to keep Gilpin County great!

Election season can get a little loud, especially in a small community like ours. And I get it. Local elections matter. The decisions made today affect the place we all call home.

But I've been thinking about something this morning.

I never want someone to vote for me simply because they're voting against someone else. I want that decision to be about the work I've done, how I treat people, and whether I've earned their trust.

I genuinely love public service. I enjoy the conversations, the questions, the challenges, and the opportunity to make a difference, even in small ways.

We don't have to agree on everything to care about the same community. And I think that's worth remembering, especially during election season. ❤️

So vote early, use one of our official ballot drop boxes, and make your voice heard!

Our community is worth showing up for. 🗳️

We’re officially down to the final four weeks, so I thought this was a good time to talk about what I want to keep working on in the Assessor’s Office.

For me, it really comes down to three things: clear information, education, and responsiveness.

Property assessment is complicated, and Colorado certainly hasn’t made it any simpler over the last few years. I want our office to keep getting better at explaining what we do, why we do it, and what it means for you as a property owner.

I also want people to know that when you have a question, you can call us. You may not always love the answer, but you should be able to understand it.

28 days to go. 🍂
