Just before noon today, companies responded to a reported fire in a multi-residential dwelling with reports of possible people trapped in the Cherrywood Section of Blackwood. Upon arrival, crews reported smoke showing from the building and immediately went in service with primary searches and fire suppression.
The fire was brought under control quickly, and searches of the affected apartment confirmed no occupants were inside.
No injuries were reported to civilians or responding personnel.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by local and county authorities.

Squad 84 responded and arrived as the fourth due engine to a fire in a single story private dwelling in District 6 this afternoon. The fire was quickly knocked down and placed under control. The Local Fire Marshals Office is investigating.

Public Service Announcement: We are aware of a strong smell of something burning throughout the area. The smell is residual from a large fire in a recycling yard in Camden City. There is currently no active fire in town. As always if you’re not sure and feel there is an emergency, please don’t hesitate to call.

This Afternoon just after 1:00pm Utility 84 was requested on the Working Fire Assigment to Taskforce Box 853. Initial arriving companies went on scene with a shed well involved with extension to the main dwelling and upgraded the assigment. Utility 84 arrived and operated an attack line in the basement before transitioning to the exterior and opening up to continue to expose fire. After the fire was knocked Utility 84 set up for Cascade Operations and filled 30 SCBA cylinders.
The fire was placed under control within 30 mins and crews remained on scene for approximately 2 hours overhauling hot spots. No injuries to any civilians or first responders have been reported. The fire is under investigation by the Local FMO.

This past Wednesday night Members conducted Live Fire Evolutions at the Camden County Fire Academy. In crews of 3 members stretched hand lines to a second floor bedroom fire, a below grade basement fire, and simulated a first floor VES. Members from Companies 83 & 81 also joined in to sharpen their skills.

At 9:00pm this evening Squad 84, Utility 84, & Chief 84 responded on Taskforce Box 82-1 for multiple calls reporting a House on Fire in the Cameron Circle Development. Chief 82 arrived with Fire showing throughout a 1 story Private Dwelling and upgraded the assigment to a Working Fire. Squad 84 arrived as the Third Due engine secured a water supply and stretched a line to the C Side. Utility 84 joined crews with Squad 84 and Chief 84 held the Operations Division. The fire was quickly extinguished with no injuries reported to any first responders or civilians.
This fire is under investigation by the local Fire Marshals Office.

Last Night members conducted training at the Camden County Fire Academy. Continuing with annual SCBA training while incorporating Engine Company Operations. Crews stretched a 200’ attack line to the first floor under zero visibility conditions, as well as the 400’ attack line to the third floor under zero to limited visibility conditions. Our newest Probationers along with Junior Members also got some nozzle time getting a feel for different operating techniques. A new drivers candidate for the Squad Company also got some time behind the wheel and on the pump. A busy night for

Just after 5pm last night Station 84 and mutual aid resources operated on at a Working Fire on Amber Ct in Blackwood. The fire was quickly brought under control with no civilian or first responder injuries reported. The fire is under investigation by the local FMs office.
