⭐ Congratulations to Greg Adams, Star of Life Award Recipient! ⭐

McClain-Grady County EMS is proud to announce that Greg Adams was awarded the Star of Life Award for 2026! 🚑

Greg serves McClain-Grady County EMS as a part-time EMT, his dedication to EMS and our community goes far beyond his scheduled shifts. He is always willing to step up when staffing needs arise, ensuring our community continues to receive the emergency medical care it deserves.

Greg is the type of EMT every agency hopes to have. Regardless of the day or hour, he is consistently willing to answer the call. His dependability and selfless willingness to come in whenever needed have ensured our community continues to receive quality emergency medical care. He never seeks recognition for his service; instead, he quietly steps forward because he understands that every shift covered means someone in our community will receive the care they need when they need it most.

Greg's dedication to serving others extends far beyond EMS. For more than two decades, he has faithfully served in ministry. His extensive training in Biblical counseling and Christian studies has given him a unique ability to comfort not only patients, but also their families and fellow co-workers during moments of crisis.

Greg has served as a volunteer firefighter, lieutenant, training officer, fire instructor, department chaplain, and EMT throughout McClain and Grady Counties. His certifications and experience include Firefighter I, Fire Service Instructor I, Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations, Active Shooter Medical Response, and Emergency Medical Technician. Throughout his years of service, he has consistently demonstrated professionalism, leadership, and a genuine desire to help others succeed.

Those who work alongside Greg know him as someone who leads by example. He treats every patient with dignity, compassion, and respect while supporting his partners and fellow responders with encouragement and humility. Whether responding to a routine medical call or a life-threatening emergency, Greg remains calm, compassionate, and focused on providing the highest level of care possible.

Outside of his professional and volunteer responsibilities, Greg is a devoted husband, father, and family man. He and his wife, Tracy, have built a life centered on faith, family, and service while raising their children and operating a family farm and ranch. His character is consistent whether he is serving in the church, responding to an emergency, working alongside fellow first responders, or spending time with his family.

Greg does not serve for recognition or accolades. He serves because it is who he is. His faith, integrity, compassion, and steadfast commitment to others have made a lasting impact on countless lives throughout our community.

The Star of Life Award recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional commitment, sacrifice, professionalism, and service to their communities. Greg Adams embodies each of these qualities every day. His unwavering willingness to serve, his compassionate care for patients and families, his dedication to EMS and the fire service, and his lifelong commitment to helping others make him exceptionally deserving of this honor.

💙 Our thoughts and prayers are with the Pafford EMS family following the loss of John Pafford.

John’s impact on EMS and the communities he served will not be forgotten. His dedication to helping others and his commitment to the EMS profession touched countless lives.

From all of us at McClain-Grady County EMS, we stand with our brothers and sisters at Pafford EMS during this difficult time. We are keeping John’s family, friends, coworkers, and the entire Pafford EMS family in our thoughts and prayers.

Rest easy, John. Your service and legacy will live on. 🚑💙

With heavy hearts, we share arrangements honoring the life of John Charles Pafford.

We invite our Pafford family, friends, colleagues, and community members to join us as we come together to honor, remember, and celebrate John and the life he shared with so many.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 14, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., with the memorial service on Tuesday, September 15, at 10:00 a.m. Both services will be held at Temple Baptist Church in Ruston, Louisiana.

We are so very grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support that has surrounded our family during these incredibly difficult days. Please continue to keep our family and all those who knew and loved John in your thoughts and prayers as we celebrate his life and say goodbye to someone who meant so very much to so many.

🚑📚 We had a great day of training with our Medical Director, Dr. Cody, and as always, we appreciate his time, knowledge, and dedication to helping our crews provide the best possible care to our patients.

And apparently, no training day is complete without a little extra supervision from Harvey! 🐾❤️

Training, teamwork, and a little Harvey time — doesn’t get much better than that! 🚑🐶

🌟 A Visit Full of Learning & Fun! 🚑

We had a great time welcoming the Girl Scouts to McClain-Grady County EMS! We loved having them stop by the station and giving them a hands-on look at what we do every day.

The girls got to explore the ambulance, learn about our equipment, and get an introduction to basic first aid. Most importantly, we hope they left with a better understanding of what EMS does and knowing that their local first responders are always here to help. ❤️

A huge thank you to the Girl Scouts for delicious cookie donations too! We enjoyed having you visit, and we hope you had as much fun as we did! 👩‍🚒🚑

Learning today. Helping others tomorrow. 💙

Supporting Our Own: CISM Training

We are proud to recognize our very own JenaLu Simpson and the City of Newcastle’s Communications Supervisor Melanie Lierle for completing a two-day Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) course offered through the Oklahoma First Responder Wellness Division.

CISM is a structured peer-support approach designed to prepare first responders and those who support them to assist individuals and teams following critical incidents. The training provides practical skills in crisis communication, individual and group interventions, resilience, and recognizing when additional support or referrals may be needed.

We are especially proud to share that McClain-Grady County EMS now has five medics with CISM training! 🚑

Our crews and communications teams are there for our communities during some of their most difficult moments, and it’s just as important that we are there for each other. Taking care of our first responders and support personnel means building a stronger, healthier, and more resilient public safety family.

One Team. One Mission. Taking Care of Our Own. 💙🚑🚔🚒
