Why has the AI industry been in such a rush to swamp the country with massive data centers while throwing caution to the wind? Wyoming Game and Fish really charged a hunter with wasting meat because a grizzly bear was eating his elk. The hunter returned to his bull the next morning, found it torn open with fresh bear sign nearby, and backed out rather than risk walking into a grizzly on a food source. He was later charged with wasting the elk and possessing the antlers. A jury found him not guilty on both charges.

This is exactly the problem hunters have warned about in grizzly country. Bears learn that hunters, gunshots and fresh kills mean food. Yet hunters still can’t manage these grizzlies through a normal hunting season, and wildlife officials themselves tell people to back away from bear-claimed carcasses.

So what was he supposed to do, walk in and fight a grizzly for his elk? Congratulations Wyoming, Charging the hunter because a protected grizzly claimed his animal is one of the dumbest poaching charges I’ve ever seen. Thankfully, the jury of his peers agreed.
