Effective immediately, out of an abundance of caution, good stewardship, and respect for the harvest, we will pause open burning in our fire district. No new burn permits will be issued until further notice. If you have executed a controlled burn within the last 30 days, we ask that you remain vigilant and check on those burns. Additionally, if you are able, please fill in those burn pits that you are unsure about. Even with all of the moisture we had been receiving, we have received reports of dry conditions in the fields. Please pay special attention to this coming weekend. Forecasts currently show winds ramping up on Friday and peaking on Saturday. Wind gusts near 50 mph are currently anticipated. Any fires will move quickly. Be safe and do not hesitate to call 911 even if you feel that you may be able to control a fire yourself. Thank you everyone. Have a safe harvest!

We are extremely grateful for the support we received during our water drive! We received almost 2.5 pallets worth of bottled water! This water will be used during the course of the year to aid our firefighters as they train and respond to incidents. This water will also serve to help others in need during times of disaster. Thank you once again to all who donated!

The Bloomfield Fire Department is conducting a water drive to replenish and build up our bottled water supplies. If you have the ability, and would like to donate some bottled water, the department would be ever so greatful. Our members use bottled water to rehydrate ourselves at a wide variety of calls and trainings. We also like to have a supply on hand in the unfortunate circumstance that we should suffer a disaster here, in our community, and when we respond to disasters in other communities.

Water can be left at the front doors of the fire department as we will be looking for these donations throughout the day and move them inside as we find them. You may also leave your donations at the city offices if that is more convenient for you.

Bloomfield Fire is accepting applications for upcoming positions as firefighter. These are volunteer positions and will require an investment of your time and talents. All applications are welcome and will be evaluated on a case by case basis. Not all applicants will be offered a position with the department. We do thank all potential applicants for your willingness to serve your community.
