Today, we remember the lives lost and all those impacted by the horrific attacks on September 11, 2001 — and we honor the bravery, courage & strength demonstrated by the first responders and helpers 25 years ago.

Fred Rogers reminded us — as his mother often reminded him — "if you look for the helpers, you'll know that there's hope."

In a world where days feel dark, tragedy Is normalized, hate is commodified and hope seems out of reach, we should both look for the helpers and be helpers ourselves so people will know that there's hope — and a better, fairer, brighter future ahead.

We're still thinking about yesterday's amazing Labor Day parade. It's always such a great time to get together with our friends in organized labor and thousands from the community to show our support for unions and workers! So many of our candidates were there, more than 130 Democrats walked with us, and dozens more were walking with their own unions. It was a fantastic celebration — now lets's get back to work building a better, fairer, brighter future for everyone in McLean County!
