The Monroe Fire Protection District would like to recognize and thank Franklin County Emergency Management for taking the time to acknowledge the efforts of our personnel and the many emergency responders who answered the call during Franklin Countyโ€™s time of need.

When disaster strikes, the emergency services community comes together. Our personnel understand that serving others means being willing to step beyond our own communities to help our neighbors, often leaving behind our families, coworkers, and the communities we serve to support those facing their darkest moments.

We are proud of our members who stepped up to assist, working alongside agencies from across the state to help protect lives and support those affected by this devastating event.

Franklin Countyโ€™s message is a powerful reminder that the emergency services family extends far beyond county lines. When one community is hurting, we stand together. Today, we are grateful for the opportunity to serve others, and we are equally grateful for the recognition and appreciation shown to our personnel.

Thank you to Franklin County Emergency Management for your leadership, your gratitude, and for reminding us all why we do what we do.

๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Yesterday, the Deck family farm on Bottom Road reached out to Station 26 for a hand hanging a flag line on one of their silos.

While it was an unusual request, our crews saw an opportunity to help a member of our community while getting in some valuable training. Station 26 and Ladder 25 had a chance to practice rope operations and aerial ladder skills while helping the Deck family.

Sometimes, training opportunities present themselves in unexpected ways, and our crews are always ready to make the most of them. Weโ€™re proud to serve our community both on and off the fireground!

Last night, the crew at Station 39, in the Stanford area, discovered a stray kitten hanging around outside the station. The crew welcomed the little visitor inside and provided some food and water using supplies from our emergency pet kits.

The crew quickly gave the kitten a name: Hali, short for Halligan Bar โ€” a firefighterโ€™s tool used to pry things open! ๐Ÿพ

One of our MFD family members stepped up to keep Hali safe overnight, and the kitten will be taken to the animal shelter this morning.

๐Ÿˆ If you think this little one might belong to you, please contact or visit the local animal shelter to inquire about the kitten.

We may spend our days responding to emergencies, but sometimes the calls for help come with four paws and a little bit of fur! ๐Ÿš’
