🔥Protect your fire. Protect your tribe.🔥
What do Survivor and real-life fire safety have in common? Protecting what matters most ❤️
In Survivor, fire represents your life in the game. In real life, knowing how to prevent a fire and what to do if one happens can help protect the lives of the people you love.
This Fire Safety Month, Youth Services Bureau of Monroe County and Safe Place are excited to team up with Jelly Loblack, local IU Sociology Professor and Survivor 51 contestant, to share an important reminder: fire safety is something we can all take steps to practice!
So, who’s in your tribe? Your family, roommates, friends, neighbors, or anyone you care about? Whoever they are, make sure they’re prepared, too!
Here’s your challenge:
🏠 Check your smoke alarms and make sure they’re working.
🚪 Make a home fire escape plan and know two ways out of every room when possible.
📍 Choose an outdoor meeting spot where everyone knows to gather.
👥 Practice your plan with the people in your household.
You don’t have to outwit, outplay, or outlast a fire. You just need to be prepared!
Take one step today to protect your people, then share this post and challenge someone else to do the same. Let’s look out for one another and keep our Monroe County community safe!
A HUGE thank you to Jelly for joining us and helping spread the word! ❤️
