Happy Bus Driver Appreciation Week!

Did you know that last school year, ROE #17 certified 964 school bus drivers through our required 8-hour initial and 2-hour annual refresher classroom courses?

We are so proud to partner with our regional transportation teams to deliver the training that keeps our students safe on the road to and from school.

To all of our regional school bus drivers: THANK YOU for your dedication, patience, and commitment to safety! 🚌

Our Truancy Coordinator, Kayla, has had a blast partnering with local school districts across our region to celebrate students who show up ready to learn every single day.

When students attend regularly, they build strong connections, stay on track, and foster a positive school culture. A huge thank you to our district partners for working alongside ROE #17 to make attendance something to celebrate!

Continuing our Principal Appreciation Month celebrations, we’re proud to spotlight Ian Earley, leader at Regional Alternative School- Livingston County, one of our ROE #17-operated programs!🌟

Here is a quick look into his leadership approach:

💬 Favorite part of the job: "Unlike some administration jobs, I still get to interact with every single student every day. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing students grow and realize their own worth and potential."

❤️ Why his staff makes him proud: "Our staff shows up every day ready to do the hard work for our students... Sometimes it feels more like a family unit rather than a traditional school."

Thank you, Ian, for building a supportive, family-like environment for students and Illinois Educators.

Drop a note of appreciation for Ian in the comments! 👇

Here’s a quick peek into what drives her leadership:

💡 Favorite part of the job: "Being flexible and innovative WITH staff to meet our students' basic, academic, and social-emotional needs."
