Join Bloomington’s Solid Waste Team for a behind-the-scenes tour of the Dakota Prairie Composting Facility and learn from the experts who turn food scraps into nutrient-rich compost. The tour includes a 30–40-minute presentation, followed by a 20-minute tour of the yard.

There is currently an opening on the Charter Commission. The Bloomington Charter Commission studies issues and makes recommendations on proposed changes to the City Home Rule Charter which outlines municipal governance.

Starting with first trips on Saturday, May 30 through end of service on Sunday, May 31: Replacement bus service will be available for the METRO Blue Line between Target Field and Fort Snelling stations to allow for needed work in the corridor related to the multi-phase Track & Signals project.
NOTE: The METRO Green Line will be fully operational at the downtown Minneapolis stations.
Cyclists: The Hiawatha bike trail will be detoured between Cedar-Riverside station and 24th St. during this maintenance period. Pay attention to signs in the corridor for current detour routing of the trail as work progresses.
Train service will return at these stations by 3 a.m. on Monday, June 1

Bloomington fifth graders recently had the opportunity to meet sculpture artist Craig David and explore the creative vision behind Canto Mysterium, a new public art piece coming to Bryant Park, located at 1001 W 85th St. During the visit, students learned about the artistic process, shared creative ideas, and even created their own drawings inspired by the project — some of which Craig may incorporate into the final sculpture design.

What could the future of emergency response look like? 🚁
Beginning May 18, the City of Bloomington will launch a two-week test and demonstration period exploring Drone as First Responder Technology and how it could support City operations in the future.
Bloomington Police and Fire, along with several other City departments, are partnering on the effort as part of a broader regional exploration happening across Twin Cities metro communities.
