Ted E. Bear Academy has proudly served families for over 40 years. Bear Academy is owned and operated by Blair and Seth Jervis.

We offer a safe, loving environment with a focus on both curriculum and play-based learning, caring staff, and meals through our the CACFP program. We are located in Blountville, Tennessee just off of exit 66. Bear Academy is dedicated to the early education of children.

Our Brave Bears had the BEST time celebrating Pumpkin Day!! We wore orange, read Pumpkin Jack, and carved our very own pumpkin to keep in our classroom and observe as it changes over time. Of course, we had to give him a name, so meet Pumpkin Pete! 🎃

We also got to investigate pumpkins, explore the seeds and gooey insides, and get a little messy! Through this hands-on activity, our bears practiced fine motor skills while scooping out seeds, used their senses to explore different textures, and built their science skills by making observations, asking questions, and discovering what was inside a pumpkin!

We love creating opportunities for our kiddos to learn through hands-on exploration, and we can’t wait to watch Pumpkin Pete change and see what new discoveries we make along the way!

Our preschoolers are working hard to put on and zip their own jackets! These little skills build independence, confidence, patience, and problem-solving. 🤍

One of our favorite moments was hearing a friend say they were so proud of another friend for doing it that they could cry. THESE are the moments that make it all worth it! Watching our kiddos grow, cheer each other on, and celebrate one another’s accomplishments is the sweetest thing.

Once they master the skill, they earn a special zipper pull to show off their hard work! 🎉 Little skills, BIG accomplishments! 🐻

We had a GREAT week learning all about teeth and dentists! We talked about keeping our teeth healthy and why brushing is so important. 🪥 🦷

We even ended our week with a special visit from Kingsport Pediatric Dentistry! A big thank-you for making learning so fun for our Brave Bears! 🐻🤍

🍂 Fall is in the air, and we’ve been having so much fun learning, exploring, and making memories together! From discovering all the fun things that make fall special to enjoying time with our friends, our days have been filled with smiles, laughter, and plenty of hands-on learning. 🍂

We love sharing these special moments with our families and watching our little learners grow, play, and discover something new each day! 🤍🧸

When Flight Athletic Academy asked us if we were interested in a partnership, it was an easy “YES!” 🙌

Through fun, age-appropriate activities focused on gross motor development💪, coordination, balance, and exercise 🏃‍♂️, our kiddos are getting active while building skills and confidence 🦸

Community collaboration 🤝makes our centers stronger and gives the kids even more opportunities to learn, move, and grow 💗

We’re celebrating one of Tennessee’s most beloved icons — Dolly Parton! 💕🎶

On Friday, September 25, we invite our little bears to come dressed in their best Dolly-inspired or Tennessee attire! Think:

💕 Pink or bright colors
✨ Rhinestones, sparkles & sequins
🎶 A Dolly Parton shirt
🧡 A Tennessee shirt
🤠 A little country flair

No special outfit is necessary — just have fun with it!

Throughout the day, we’ll be listening to Dolly’s music, reading some of her books, learning a little about her and her Tennessee roots, and enjoying some Dolly-themed crafts!

We can’t wait for a fun day of music, books, sparkle, and Tennessee pride! 💖✨🎶
