Districts or agencies can borrow equipment on behalf of individuals with disabilities to try out the equipment before purchasing, for use during the time equipment is in repair, or for other short-term needs. Demonstration centers -
Missouri AT provides support to assistive technology demonstration programs. The programs allow individuals with disabilities, their family members, and the professionals that support them; the opportunity to learn about and try out different devices, enabling them to make an informed choice about the equipment that best meets the individual’s needs. The type of devices available for a demonstration varies widely from site to site. Please contact the individual program locations to determine what types of assistive technology are available. Missouri AT Durable Medical Equipment Recycling Program provides low-cost, recycled walkers, crutches, canes, commodes, shower chairs, manual and power wheelchairs, positioning equipment, and miscellaneous wheelchair parts, i.e. tires, cushions, armrests, footplates. Small fees are charged to individuals with disabilities based on their ability to pay to obtain adaptive equipment from the recycling program. Donations of equipment are also accepted. Financing/Funding-
Show Me Loans is a low-interest loan program to enable Missourians to purchase assistive technology equipment and devices, home access improvements, or vehicle access modifications for persons with disabilities in Missouri. Kids Assistive Technology-
The Kids Assistive Technology program (KAT) can provide limited funding for assistive technology, vehicle access modifications, and some home access modifications for children under age 21. TAP for Telephone, Wireless and Internet-

When you’re caring for a family member with memory loss, assistive technology can go a long way in increasing safety and peace of mind. We’re proud to partner with the Missouri Caregiver Program to help caregivers access this important technology.

The Missouri Caregiver Program supports in-home caregivers of individuals with Alzheimer’s or related dementias. In partnership with this program, we help qualifying caregivers learn about and acquire the assistive technology they need. Common items provided include automated medication dispensers, personal emergency response systems, remote visual and motion monitoring devices, location tracking aids, and fall prevention devices.
