BSSD students and staff stepped up for local families during the annual Community Unity Week.

The BSSD community collected 39,054 items for Blue Springs Community Services League. The week includes some friendly competition at the elementary, middle, and high school levels to see who can collect the most items. The winners are Voy Spears Jr. Elementary, Delta Woods Middle School, and Blue Springs South High School.

Special thanks to four Scooter’s Coffee locations, that collected $1,867 because of the extra shot of espresso promotion.

Thank you to everyone who participated! 🎉

We are so thankful for the Blue Springs School District and all they do to support our community—including the incredible tradition of Community Unity Week!

Each year, Community Unity Week brings Blue Springs High School and Blue Springs South High School together for a little friendly competition and a BIG impact. Students, staff, families, and community members collect canned goods, non-perishable food, hygiene items, and monetary donations for the Community Services League Blue Springs office.

This is our largest collection drive of the year, helping stock our shelves for months to come and allowing us to continue providing essential items to our neighbors.

We are incredibly grateful for BSSD, its students, staff, families, and the entire Blue Springs community for coming together year after year to make a difference!

Whether you’re a Wildcat or a Jaguar, we’re all on the same team when it comes to caring for our community!

School is out and we are already prepping for Back to School!
Our mission is to help students feel confident walking in the doors on that first day back to school!
Our Back-to-School fair for Blue Springs students will be held at OUR office on Friday August 14th. Parents will pre-register their children to receive a new backpack and age-appropriate school supplies. Families will check-in, pick up supplies and a new backpack.
Blue Springs families are able to sign up in office as of July 15th on a FCFS basis. We will be accepting donations from now until August 13th.
We have barrels available for churches and businesses that we will drop off to fill with school supplies. We will also be collecting supplies at our office located at 200 sw 10th. If you would rather donate monetarily towards our school supply purchase, we will be accepting gift cards and checks also!
We are SO thankful to be able to send our students to school with all they need to be successful!
We appreciate your support and couldn’t do it without you!
Please contact Amanda at 816-690-8213 or [email protected] if you are interested in a barrel or have any questions
