All fire personnel are clear the scene and back in the station. MHP and the wrecker crew were still on scene and one lane is back open. Traffic was backed up for about 3 miles so it will take a little while to clear out.

UPDATE: 6:05 AM

Both Lanes are now shut down. If you are headed toward New Albany/Memphis please Exit at Blue Springs, Exit 73 to avoid delays.

I22 TRAFFIC ALERT!!

We have a semi trailer overturned in the left hand lane of I22 between mile marker 68 & 67. The lane is blocked, but traffic is flowing at this time in the right hand lane. Please use caution if traveling through the area as there is rock all across the road and fire & law enforcement are on scene. There are no injuries and the trailer is off the road.

Important Travel Notice: A scheduled closure of Hwy 178 between New Albany and Blue Springs is set to begin on July 7th and conclude on September 15th. The affected section is between Wallerville and New Harmony. For your convenience, a map detailing the optimal detour route is attached. Operators of large commercial vehicles are encouraged to take I-22 between Blue Springs and New Albany. Please be mindful of the slower traffic and speeds on county roads when detouring.

Things keep getting more and more organized on Engine 1 and getting out of the classroom finally.

12:00 pm UPDATE: The leak has been capped and traffic is flowing back normal. If you live in the area around the Church and Fire Station 1, and are on Pontotoc Gas, you may not have any gas until they can come back and make the repair. Our gas at the station is out, but our line comes off the line about 50' from the break. Just make sure to check pilot lights.

TRAFFIC ALERT: CR 204 is shut down between New Harmony Baptist Church and CR 203. The debris removal crew removing a stump has ruptured the natural gas line. Fire units are on scene and Poctotoc Gas is on the way. There is no fire at this time and the road closure is strictly a precaution.
