🦉A HOOT OF A DAY AT THE GASPARILLA ISLAND LIGHTHOUSE!🦉
A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who joined the Barrier Island Parks Society, Inc. (BIPS) this past Saturday for our Screech Owl Nesting Box Program at the Gasparilla Island Lighthouse!
We were thrilled to see such an incredible response, with every available spot reserved in advance! It was wonderful to welcome so many nature enthusiasts for a hands-on experience learning about Florida’s Eastern Screech Owls and building nesting boxes to help provide potential nesting spaces for these fascinating native birds.
A special thank-you to our guest speaker, Florida State Parks Biologist Jacob Wozny, for sharing his knowledge and passion for local wildlife, and to our dedicated BIPS staff and volunteers whose time, hard work, and enthusiasm helped make this program such a success.
And, of course, thank you to every participant for spending part of your Saturday with us and supporting our mission to Inspire, Educate, and Preserve. Your enthusiasm and commitment to protecting our natural environment are what make programs like this so rewarding.
We are grateful to everyone who helped make this a memorable day at the lighthouse, and we look forward to welcoming you back for more opportunities to learn, explore, and connect with the natural world!
