Boca Raton Police Services Department

Why is Boca Raton evaluating options for a new Police Headquarters? 🚔

Our current headquarters was built nearly 40 years ago, when Boca Raton was a much smaller community, and the Police Department was less than half its current size.

Today, the Department faces different operational needs, with personnel, specialized units, and equipment spread across multiple City facilities. The existing headquarters also presents challenges related to building conditions and hurricane preparedness.

Hear from Assistant Chief Fred Laurie as he shares some of the challenges facing our current headquarters and why the City is planning for the future.

DON'T ROLL THROUGH THE RED 🛑 COMPLETELY STOP INSTEAD ✅

When you pull up to a red light, you have to fully come to a stop before the crosswalk - especially if you intend to turn right at that light. 🚥

Our CRA (Community Redevelopment Agency) officers, led by Sgt. Horne, recently reminded drivers that rolling stops do not count. 🚫

Pedestrians could be in or entering the crosswalk in front of you, and oncoming traffic doesn't expect you to ignore the red light - which can lead to an accident. 🚸
