Stronger communities start with stronger connections!

BCESD 4 Fire & Rescue was proud to be part of National Night Out on October 5th, joining our community and fellow public safety partners including Fair Oaks Ranch Police Department in strengthening the relationships that help keep our neighborhoods safe.

As firefighters and EMS personnel our commitment goes beyond responding to emergencies. It’s about building trust, connecting with the people we serve, and being part of the community we proudly call home.

A big thank-you to everyone who helped make this event possible and to all those who continue to support our first responders!

Together, we’re building a stronger, safer community.

Some of the most important fire safety lessons are taught before an emergency ever happens.

During Fire Prevention Week, our firefighters had the opportunity to visit Van Raub Elementary and talk with students about the importance of fire prevention and fire safety.

These moments are about more than teaching safety—they’re about building awareness, creating confidence, and helping the next generation understand what to do when it matters most.

We’re proud to serve our community not only when the alarm sounds, but also by helping prevent emergencies before they happen.

A safer community starts with education.

⚠️ FLOOD WATCH – SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS ⚠️

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for much of South Central Texas beginning Wednesday evening, September 30, through Friday evening, October 2.

Heavy rainfall is possible during this period, and flash flooding may develop quickly, especially along roadways, low-water crossings, creeks, and other flood-prone areas.

Please stay weather aware, monitor changing conditions, and never attempt to drive through a flooded roadway.

🚗 Turn Around, Don’t Drown!

As conditions develop, please continue to monitor official weather information and local alerts.

Another step forward. Another level of leadership.

Today, we’re proud to recognize two of our members, R. Burns and S. Mercer as they take the next step in their careers, promoting from Field Training Officer (FTO) to Medical Officer (M*F).

Promotions like this are earned through experience, dedication, leadership, and a commitment to the people beside you. As FTOs, they have helped train and mentor the next generation of our department, setting the standard through their knowledge, actions, and commitment to the job.

Now, they take on an even greater responsibility to lead, mentor, and continue raising the standard for our members and the community we serve.

Congratulations on a well-deserved promotion! We’re proud of what you’ve accomplished and look forward to what’s ahead.

Join us in congratulating them and welcoming them into their new roles!

Yesterday, BCESD4 had the honor of being part of a 9/11 Remembrance Walk in Fair Oaks Ranch.

Walking alongside firefighters, Roger Fuentes retired SAFD firefighter, police personnel, and members of our community was a powerful reminder of what September 11th means—and why we must never stop remembering.

Twenty-five years later, the stories of that day still carry so much weight. We remember the innocent lives that were taken, the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and other first responders who ran toward danger while others were running away, and the countless families whose lives were changed forever.

Yesterday wasn’t just a walk. It was a moment to pause, reflect, and honor.

Seeing first responders and civilians walking shoulder to shoulder was a reminder that remembrance brings us together. We may never fully understand the courage it took that day, but we can make sure the sacrifice is never forgotten.

To those who served, those who sacrificed, and those who continue to answer the call every day—thank you.

We remember.
We honor.
We will never forget.

Today, September 11th, we pause to remember a day that changed our nation forever.

We remember the innocent lives taken too soon. We remember the families who never got to say goodbye. We remember the firefighters, police officers, first responders, military members, and everyday Americans who showed extraordinary courage when our country needed them most.

But today should also remind us of something else:
We are Americans. On that day, there were no political parties. No arguments over race, religion, immigration, or where someone came from.

There was simply US.

Neighbors helped neighbors. Strangers stood together. Americans of every background came together under one flag.

One nation. One people. One America.

Our differences will always exist, but they should never be greater than the things that unite us.

So today, let’s put aside the division. Let’s remember the unity we showed when it mattered most. Let’s honor those we lost by treating one another with dignity, compassion, and respect.

We owe it to them to remember.
We owe it to their families to never forget.
And we owe it to our country to stand together.

September 11, 2001 — Never Forget.
