A good reminder

10/17/2026

Many locations or near, at or below freezing this morning. We have a Freeze Warning in effect until 9 am. After the sun comes up temps will start to gradually rise into the upper 50s and lower 60s by afternoon. Other than some breezy winds it will be a spectacular sunny fall day across the region.

10/15/2026

Good morning panhandles. The winds today will be blowing from the north across much of the panhandles. The winds will be the strongest in the northwestern panhandles becoming weaker towards the southeast. So travel can be a bit harder on those east to west routes.

10/15/2026

We continue to monitor the potential for our first widespread freeze of the season by Saturday morning across most of the combined Panhandles. Check back for updates to the forecast & take the steps you need, to be prepared for these cold temperatures.

10/14/2026

We still continue to monitor the southeast Texas Panhandle for additional chances for strong to severe storms (10-20% chance). This area out ahead of the main cold front remains in an environment still favorable for a strong to severe storm over the next few hours. Make sure to have multiple ways to receive warnings if they are issued.
