🏡 How does Ada County’s Comprehensive Plan affect YOU?

Let’s talk about something called the Future Land Use Map. 🗺️ (link below)

Whenever Ada County Development Services receives an application for a new development, one of the first things our planners do is pull up this map.

Why? Because the Future Land Use Map shows how different areas of unincorporated Ada County are envisioned to grow and develop over time. It helps guide decisions about where housing, businesses, agriculture, open space, and other land uses should be located.

And here’s why that matters to you.

When our planners review a development proposal, they can’t simply say, “I don’t like that project,” or “I think something else would be better there.”

Their recommendations have to be grounded in the County’s adopted Comprehensive Plan, Zoning Ordinance, and other applicable regulations. The Future Land Use Map is an important part of that review.

So what if the community wants something different?

That’s where you come in!

Ada County is updating its Comprehensive Plan, including the vision that guides future land use decisions.

Want to see more open space preserved? Different housing options? More thoughtful transitions between neighborhoods and agricultural land? A different approach to where and how our county grows?

Now is the perfect time to tell us.

The Comprehensive Plan isn’t just a document that sits on a shelf. It’s a tool our planners use to evaluate real development proposals that shape the places you live, work, and play.

📋 Come to our Open House TONIGHT! And take our kickoff survey by October 16!
