CVI staff and the CVI Board have been hitting the doors to talk with Idahoans about the importance of voting in the November 4th election. In previous off-year elections the voter turnout is around 26% of registered voters. Some races in the Treasure Valley have even been decided by less than 4 votes - that’s why it’s even more important to vote this November 4th. Local elections have an immediate impact on your daily life, making it even more crucial to get involved. To learn more about ways to vote or to find your polling location, visit voteidaho.gov.

October is Filipino American History Month, celebrating the anniversary of the first recorded Filipinos in the United States in October 1587.

Like many other immigrant groups, Filipino Americans continue to contribute to the cultural fabric of the U.S. through healthcare, activism, the arts, and community care. In 2025, only 60 years after the elimination of immigration quotas that limited Asians from entering the country, it’s important for us to recognize and celebrate the history and humanity of immigrants.

As we honor these contributions and milestones, we recognize how far we have come —and how much work we have left ahead of us.

October is National Clean Energy Action Month! CVI builds relationships with our elected officials to advocate for sound climate policies, and holds lawmakers accountable by mobilizing Idaho voters on behalf of both beneficial or harmful legislation. Over ten Idaho communities, counties, and utilities have made 100% clean energy commitments. We are proud to share that momentum for Idaho’s clean energy future is building!

On this Indigenous Peoples Day, we must recognize that having only one day to honor the Indigenous communities who have lived on and cared for this land since time immemorial is not enough.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our sovereign Tribal partners, whose leadership is vital to protecting these lands for generations to come. We honor Indigenous communities and their deep connection to lands, waters, and wildlife. Today and everyday, we’re proud to work alongside Tribes to safeguard our cherished wild spaces.
