THE COMMITTIEE IS BACK!!!

The MLK Living Legacy Delegation has just returned from a retreat where we worked on team bonding and planning for the upcoming academic year!

We are confident that this year will be a great one. The committee has shown promise, initiative, and determination, alongside a willingness to work hard in maintaining MLK Jr.s legacy on campus.

We also have new delegates on the committee! Their introductions will be coming soon. 👀

We would like to thank the Wassmuth Center for Human Rights for giving us a tour of the center and for speaking with us about potential future collaboration! The delegates went about exploring the center, learning about the valuable programs and opportunities offered, witness accounts of the holocaust, and how hate works to justify the treatment of marginalized groups.

We look forward to collaborating with the Wassmuth Center for Human Rights in the future, and we encourage everyone to explore the center and the surrounding memorial, to not only build community with others, but to also further their understanding of human rights and its importance within our society.

We're facing a severe blood shortage - our national blood supply has fallen by 35% over the past month. During a blood shortage, doctors may face difficult choices about which patients receive blood transfusions and who will need to wait.

We are in urgent need of donors to help patients who are counting on lifesaving blood following accidents, during surgeries, and for treatment of conditions such as sickle cell disease and cancer.

When a community comes together, they become unstoppable.

What we saw here today was more than just community. It was unity in times of hardship.

In the face of division, we built a beloved community.

But the struggle does not end here. We must continue advocating for those who can not advocate for themselves. We most continue to spread the words of equality championed by Dr. King in the hopes that we can create a better, united world.
