This school year, employees from PacificSource showed up every other week for students at a nearby school through our Facilitated Lunch Buddies program. 💚
By simply sharing lunch, conversation, encouragement, and consistency, they made a meaningful difference in the lives of local kids. Sometimes the smallest moments create the biggest impact.
Thank you, PacificSource Health Plans, for investing in mentorship and showing up for youth in our community!
Want your workplace to get involved next year, too? You can make a difference just by showing up. Email [email protected] to learn more about becoming a Facilitated Lunch Buddy partner.

Meet a new match! 🥳
Big Brother Russ first connected with us at Brews for Bigs after hearing about the program from his friend Nick, one of our current Bigs. Thanks to that recommendation, another incredible mentor stepped forward for a child in our community.
Russ brings such a thoughtful mix of creativity, adventure, and encouragement to this match. From hiking, biking, music, and photography to web development and woodworking, he is excited to support Reed in whatever passions light him up.
And it already sounds like they have plenty in common. Reed loves Minecraft, computers, art, music, and riding his bike, which made for an engaged and energetic first meeting full of questions and conversation.
We are so excited to watch this friendship grow and see the impact these two will have on each other’s lives.
This is the power of community and word of mouth. One mentor inspired another. One “yes” led to a life-changing connection.
We truly are .

This year, at Magical Moments, we were proud to recognize Big Brother Chris and Little Brother Iver as our Big and Little Brothers of the Year.
Before Iver was even born, his family experienced the heartbreaking loss of his father. As Iver grew up, his mom recognized the importance of having a strong male role model in his life and signed him up for Big Brothers Big Sisters. That decision led to a life-changing match with Chris.
During his speech at Magical Moments, Iver shared a powerful reflection on growing up without his dad:
“I grieved differently than my mom and sister. I didn’t grieve the loss of a person, but the absence of one.”
Through that absence, Chris became a constant presence in Iver’s life. Over the years, he has been so much more than a mentor. He has been a trusted friend, a listening ear, a source of encouragement, and Iver’s biggest champion through every stage of life. Together, they have shared adventures, conversations, challenges, and countless memories.
Now, Iver is graduating from high school and preparing to accomplish BIG things. He dreams of changing the world for the better through the political system, and there is no doubt he has a bright future ahead.
While they may be graduating from the program, Chris and Iver’s bond does not end here. Their relationship is one built for a lifetime, and their story is a powerful reminder of the lasting impact mentorship can have. 💚

The next generation of Idaho leaders, innovators, neighbors, and changemakers is growing up right now. The future of Idaho is sitting in our classrooms, walking our neighborhoods, and searching for people who believe in them.
They say it takes a village, and we can attest to that. We are bigger together when we link arms as a community and empower the youth around us.
Young people should not have to figure out life alone. They need mentors, encouragers, advocates, and people willing to show up consistently and remind them that they matter.
At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Idaho, we see every day what happens when a child has someone in their corner. Confidence grows. Potential is unlocked. Futures change.
Let’s build Idaho together by investing in this generation and becoming the support system our youth deserve.
