We've been making some calls today, just checking in with families we serve - always touched to hear the deep appreciation and love they have for their respite companion volunteers. Here's some of the things that have been shared today: "My volunteer has just become a good friend." "These weekly visits bring my caregiver heart much comfort as I know my uncle is having a great moment". "I wouldn't be able to get to exercise each week if it wasn't for my volunteer." "We absolutely love our volunteer!" If you know anyone who would enjoy serving folks with simple weekly visits, please spread the word. Our family wait list grows almost daily.

Yesterday was Memorial Day. Yesterday and EVERY day Aging Strong honors all who gave their lives for our country.
This picture is of CK who recently lost her husband Richard, a Korean War veteran. She is also the daughter of a Purple Heart recipient who served in the Korean War.
Today, she continues that legacy of service by faithfully visiting a veteran's family each week, providing respite support as he cares for his mother.
We are so grateful for volunteers like CK, whose quiet acts of kindness and devotion make such a difference in the lives of military families

🇺🇸 HONORING IDAHO’S VETERANS 🇺🇸
One Flight. A Lifetime of Gratitude.
Idaho Honor Flight is preparing for its inaugural Eastern Idaho mission in September 2026, giving our heroes the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials built in their honor — at no cost to the veteran.
We are currently seeking:
⭐ Veterans to apply
⭐ Guardians to serve alongside our heroes
⭐ Volunteers to support the mission
⭐ Sponsors & donors to help make this experience possible
This mission is dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of veterans from WWII, Korea, and Vietnam, while building a lasting community of support for Idaho veterans and their families.

Our Foster Grandparents are so very blessed to have some of the best community speakers come and give their knowledge and expertise to ensure the volunteers have skills they can bring with them into the classrooms they serve!
Thank you to Idaho Parents Unlimited for having such amazing people like Sarah and Allison providing needed skills and expertise to the many volunteers we have in classrooms across the Treasure Valley!

At Memory Café, we don’t dwell on what’s lost. We celebrate what remains. Music, laughter, connection. These moments matter, especially for those facing memory loss.
Programs like ours are vulnerable right now - but the people we serve are even more so. Give today so we can continue showing up tomorrow.
