Ada County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Hessing, Chief Haynes, and Trevor A. Chadwick, City of Star Mayor helped lead an Honor and Remember Ceremony at the Star Riverhouse last week in tribute to Gold Star Mother Deborah Bundy, who lost her son, Private First Class Kevin Christensen, in service to our nation.

Chief Deputy Hessing had the honor of presenting the flag to Deborah.

The Honor and Remember Flag Ceremony, established in 2008, serves to recognize fallen service members and honor their families. Each personalized flag bears the name of a fallen soldier, symbolizing that their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Huge thanks to the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association for their generous donation of $750 to the Boise VA Medical Center food pantry! This donation will purchase food that we provide to veterans in need through our Volunteer Department.

*The food pantry is not funded by tax-payer dollars and is not a guaranteed service or benefit of the VA. The Boise VA Medical Center operates a food pantry for veterans on a volunteer basis and relies on the donations of patriotic individuals and organizations like the Combat Vet Motorcycle Association to fund the food pantry. If you would also like to donate to this life saving resource for veterans, please contact the Boise VA Medical Center Volunteer Department at 208-422-1175.
