General information

Central District Health Department serves Ada, Boise, Elmore, and Valley Counties. Our geographic area includes frontier, rural, and urban areas with a total population of just over 400,000 people, which is nearly one-third of the population of the entire state of Idaho.

Our volunteers are an integral part of the public health preparedness activities at CDHD. Through the CDHD MRC Program, volunteers participate in training, exercises, and other activities to support the department's readiness and capability to respond to a public health emergency. Volunteers also participate in a variety of public health activities including community outreach and other departmental projects.
