Volunteer Hosts still needed at Heyburn State Park ID! No matter what type of recreation you are interested in, we have the opportunities at Heyburn! Approximately 40 miles of trail to explore, access to the entire south end of Lake Coeur d'Alene and the 72 mile long Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes. If that's not enough, visit our sister park McCroskey State Park to see stunning views of the Palouse Prairie. With the unveiling of our new marina, it is an exciting and dynamic time to spend a summer at historic Heyburn State Park!

A Huge Thank You to the Idaho Fine Arts Academy!

We are incredibly grateful to this amazing group of students for their hard work and dedication. On Friday, May 2nd, they filled two dump trailers with deadfall from the North Trail—an incredible effort that helps keep our park beautiful and safe.

Looking to join the next volunteer opportunity? Mark your calendar for May 10th! We'll be hosting another clean-up day at Eagle Island State Park from 10 AM to Noon. After a productive morning, enjoy a delicious lunch fresh off the grill as a token of our appreciation.

If you'd like to be included on the volunteer list, please reach out—we’d love to have you!

The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation is inviting proposals for a fantastic opportunity to enhance the recreation experience at the Spring Shores Unit of Lucky Peak State Park.
We’re looking for creative and energetic partners to develop, maintain, and operate a concession that will serve visitors with a variety of services and amenities. This could involve: offering delicious snacks and drinks, selling outdoor essentials, and renting out both powered and non-powered watercraft. If you have ideas on how to run this concession, we want to hear from you!

Please contact the park manager, Surat Nicol, with your proposal or if you have any questions regarding this matter. The deadline to submit a proposal is March 14th, 2025.
