🚒 Honoring Those Who Answer the Call 🚒
On May 4, we recognize International Firefighters’ Day… a time to honor the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment of firefighters across Idaho and beyond.
Every call they respond to represents more than an emergency, it reflects a promise to protect lives, property, and our communities, often in the most challenging conditions.
Transparent Idaho is proud to support transparency in how public resources are allocated to essential services like fire protection, because strong communities depend on both trust and accountability.

Today, I join my fellow Idahoans in mourning the tremendous loss of Governor Dirk Kempthorne.
Dirk had a steady, thoughtful approach that was reflected in the lasting policies he shaped and his enduring commitment to putting the people first. He believed that government exists to serve its citizens, and he carried that principle with him throughout his career in public service - as Mayor, Governor, Senator, and Secretary of the Interior.
Dirk's decades of accountable leadership have truly left their mark on both our great state and our nation.
Janalee and I extend our deepest condolences to Dirk's family, friends, and all who were touched by his life and service. Idaho is better because of him, and he will be deeply missed.
