Over two decades of investment. One evening to celebrate.

Join us Thursday, October 22, as we celebrate the Westside District and the people, partnerships, and projects that have contributed to its evolution.

We’ll gather for a casual fall evening to look back at where the district started, see how it has changed, and celebrate the community that brought its vision to life.

New Path 2 is complete.

The new 95-unit permanent supportive housing community in the 30th Street Urban Renewal District provides homes for individuals and couples exiting homelessness.

Bringing this project to life took a strong partnership between the City of Boise, Pacific West Communities, New Path Community Housing, CCDC, Idaho Housing and Finance Association, and many other support organizations. Together, these partners brought public and private resources together to create much-needed housing and strengthen the surrounding neighborhood.

CCDC’s investment also supported public improvements along 23rd Street, including new sidewalks, street trees, lighting, and bike racks, as well as upgraded water and sewer infrastructure and a rebuilt public alley.

Congratulations to everyone who helped make New Path 2 possible, and to the residents who now have a place to call home.

Nearly 25 years of investment. One lasting impact.

The Westside District is coming to a close, marking the end of an era of urban renewal and the beginning of a new chapter for the area.

Over the life of the district, public investment created the conditions for projects that have reshaped how people live, work, move, and gather.

From Cherie Buckner-Webb Park and the 11th Street Bikeway to 1010 Jefferson, the rebuilt Bannock Street and 8th Street corridors, and strategic investment in private development and historic renovation, these projects represent more than individual projects.

Together, they tell a bigger story about what urban renewal can accomplish when public resources, private investment, and community vision come together.

As we close the chapter on the Westside District, we're taking a look back at over two decades projects, partnerships, and progress.

Curious what’s happening behind the fence at CCDC’s 1010 Jefferson project? 🏗️

Join project managers Amy and Kassi for a behind-the-scenes look at construction on the Westside District’s newest development.

The six-story ParkBOI public parking facility will do more than add parking downtown. Ground-floor commercial space will bring new activity to Jefferson Street, while a dedicated space for the YMCA’s Kissler Family Early Education Center will support access to early childhood education for downtown families and workers.

It’s one project designed to support several downtown needs: more public parking, more street-level activity, and space for an important community resource.

Boise projects are in the running for Idaho Business Review’s Top Projects! 🎉

Several CCDC projects and partnerships are nominated, including Rebuild Linen Blocks on Grove Street, Grove Street Pathway, Kaixo Corner, North End Lofts, and AC Hotel Boise.

Each represents investment in Boise’s public spaces, infrastructure, and continued growth. We’re excited to see them recognized among Idaho's most impactful projects.

Affordable housing doesn't happen with one partner. It takes a community.

Through CCDC's Participation Program, the agency has partnered with public and private partners on projects that have brought more affordable and deeply affordable homes to Boise.

Together, these partnerships have helped bring hundreds of new homes to Boise, including:

- The Martha
- North End Lofts
- Ash + River Townhomes
- Wilson Station
- New Path 1 and New Path 2 Community Housing
- The Finch
- The Sherwood Permanent Supportive Housing

and many others.

CCDC's role varies from project to project, but the goal is consistent: use urban renewal resources to help make important community investments possible.

🎉 Construction on Bannock Street is officially complete!

The final phase between 12th and 13th Street is finished, marking the completion of Rebuild Bannock Street:12th Street to 16th Street project.

With improved sidewalks and crossings, new trees and landscaping, upgraded lighting and utilities, and a more welcoming streetscape, Bannock is now safer, more accessible, and better connected for everyone who lives, works and visits the neighborhood.

A big thank you to the community, businesses, property owners, project partners, and construction teams for your patience, partnership, and support throughout the work. We’re excited to see this investment serving the Westside District for years to come. 🌳🚶‍♀️🚲
