Hawthorne Elementary School in Boise, Idaho, is a small Title 1 school in the Boise School District that tore up nearly a half-acre of unused grass to create the innovative Idaho Native Plants Learning Landscape & Teaching Garden outdoor classroom.

Some of our Earth Nerds from the communication team gave some visiting teachers a tour of the garden and spoke about the projects we’ve been working on around Hawthorne the past few years. We were so proud to show off our learning landscape and share the culture of sustainability that has grown at our school through the years!
