Do you have a little one who will be 5 by September 1 AND is ready for adventure? Come to kindergarten registration! We'll have lots of fun and be ready to start in the fall. We can't wait to meet you!

Hawthorne Elementary is thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for our students, along with students across Idaho, to engage with astronaut Sunita "Suni" Williams in a live discussion about the International Space Station. We will be hosting a live viewing event on January 9, 2025, as part of NASA's In-Flight Education Downlink.

During this live session, Suni Williams will answer recorded questions from students about life in space and the science behind the International Space Station. This is a rare opportunity to connect directly with an astronaut!

Hawthorne's Garden Club had fun making bird feeders from pumpkins!
Cut the pumpkin open, scoop out the inside, or use a leftover jack-o-lantern! Use bamboo stakes (or any other sturdy sticks) to make a stand. Gather seed heads from your garden, and push their stalks into the cut edge of the pumpkin. Fill with bird seed and set it in your garden!

Today's the day, Hawthorne! Kids can have playtime while parents and guardians learn important things about this school year! There will be an ice cream treat for each child. Thanks for the goodies, PTO!

Hey there, Hawthorne neighborhood! Our playground, field, and blacktop will be closed for about a week as we carry out some construction work. Guests will be welcome again by the 9th! The job will take all summer, so continued caution will be needed, but we'll have this public resource available as much as possible.

Will you do me the favor of letting your neighbors know? Lots of neighborhood folks use our play area, and we're very sorry to close it up, even for a week. Good news: our Native Plants Learning Landscape will be open for plant examining, outdoor lunching, fresh-air reading, birdcall listening, and bug watching! Enjoy!
