Connecting First at BPS and BIS!

Through Conscious Discipline, BPS and BIS emphasize connection before learning.

Every day, educators build strong bonds through:
• Morning Greetings & Meetings: Helping students start their week connected to peers and teachers.
• Wishing Well Moments: Teaching empathy by encouraging kids to care for classmates and families.
• Rituals & Breathing Exercises: Helping students regulate their emotions so their brains are ready to learn.
By putting connection first, BPS and BIS are helping students grow into empathetic, kind, and supportive learners! This work truly sets the foundation for learning!

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

The 5th Graders at BIS proudly present "Get in the Game: A Sports Musical". Thursday, October 15th at 7:00pm in the BHS Auditorium.

When the school gets a new Gym teacher, the students start asking themselves a lot of really important questions. What does it truly take to be a champion, especially when you're not the fastest, the tallest, or the strongest? How can anyone find what sport suits them and have fun while doing it? And who on earth is the new Gym teacher?!? Join all the students and their wacky custodian Mr. Baxter, as they explore the wide world of sports and how each and every one of us can have a ball, no matter what activity we choose.

Mr. Collins has sent home information around arrival time. If you have any questions, reach out to him on ParentSquare or call the BIS office.

We are continuing National Bullying Prevention Month! This week, let’s work together by speaking up. If you see something unkind, be an upstander, not a bystander. Report bullying to a trusted adult, your voice matters! 🗣️

Happy National Instructional Coach Day to Ashley Caviness and Heather Engdahl! We’re so incredibly thankful for the way these two serve our staff because so much of what they do happens right in the middle of the work. They’re sitting beside teachers, jumping into team conversations, helping us think through instruction, and working through the questions that come up along the way. They know our staff, they care about the work, and they make coaching feel like a partnership. BIS is better because of the way Ashley and Heather show up for our teachers every day!

October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Creating a safe school environment starts with all of us! This week, let's focus on inclusion. Let's encourage kids to invite someone new to sit with them at lunch or play at recess. Together, we can make everyone feel like they belong!

It’s Picture Day here at BIS! We asked students, “If you could make any face you wanted to make on picture day, and your parents HAD to buy the picture, what face would you make?”

Enjoy! 🤣
