Here it is! (The before and after) The buddy bench was installed yesterday by Mr. Scott! We are so thankful for his dedication. Isn't it beautiful.

What is a Buddy Bench?
The Buddy Bench is a designated seating area on the playground with a simple, powerful purpose: to help kids make friends and ensure no one feels left out during recess.

How does it work?

If a child feels lonely or wants someone new to play with: They simply sit on the bench.

If other kids see someone on the bench: They head over and invite them to join their game or talk for a bit.

It takes away the intimidation of asking, "Can I play?" and gives kids a safe, visual way to signal that they're looking for a buddy. It also gives our students a daily opportunity to practice noticing others and showing compassion.

How you can support at home:
Chat with your child tonight! Ask them if they’ve ever used the Buddy Bench—either to sit on or to invite a classmate to join in. Remind them that checking the bench during recess is a quick, easy way to make someone's day a whole lot brighter.

Together, we're building a culture where every child knows they belong! 🌟
