One week until Boone BOO! 🎃👻
Saturday, October 31, from 4 to 6 PM, King Street fills up with costumes, candy, and Halloween fun for the whole family. Downtown businesses will be handing out treats, there will be spooky music and giant inflatables along the sidewalks, and the Jones House and the library will have extra fun too.
Come early, dress up, and bring the kids (and the kids at heart!). Free and family-friendly. 🧡

Welcome back, Josh Johnston! 🎨💚

We’re thrilled to have our beloved Hellbender artist returning to expand the Hellbender mural! Josh’s work has brought this one-of-a-kind creature to life on our walls, and we couldn’t think of anyone better to help us grow the story.

The hellbender is truly special: an ancient salamander that calls our clear, cool mountain streams home. It’s a living indicator of healthy water, and a reminder of why protecting our rivers and watersheds matters so much. Every chance we get to celebrate this fun, quirky neighbor is a chance to inspire the next generation of stream stewards. 🌊

Thank you, Josh, for helping us show the world that the “snot otter” is a treasure worth protecting!

Lights, camera, Main Street! 🎬

We had a blast at our NC Main Street photo shoot! A huge thank you to the NC Main Street for making this possible, and to the fantastic crew at Roseland Photography for the great energy, creativity, and patience while we worked through the photo releases!

The crew loved our downtown and couldn’t get over how much was happening, and the weather was absolutely perfect for it. Spending the day with this team was a joy.

We can’t wait to share the short film and photo materials with you. They’re going to show off everything that makes Downtown Boone special. Stay tuned! 📸

Welcome to Boone, App State fans and Monarchs alike! 🍂

Kickoff against Old Dominion is at 1pm, and the leaves are starting to putting on a show for you this weekend. Whether you're here for the whole day or just the game, we're so glad you made the trip to the High Country.

After the final whistle, stick around and make downtown part of your Saturday. Grab dinner at one of our local restaurants, stroll Howard Street, and soak in the fall colors before heading home. We'll save you a seat at the table! 🏈

Calling all young pickers! Kids Jam is back every Wednesday from 4 to 5pm, a great companion to our Thursday night old-time jams.

🎵 Who: Musicians ages 8-17 with an acoustic string instrument
🎵 Cost: Free!
🎵 Skill level: All levels welcome (knowing a few basic chords helps)

It's a welcoming, low-pressure place to learn traditional songs and discover the fun of playing music together.

📅 Runs through December 2 (no jam on November 11 or November 25)

🍂 Fall Break is here! 🍂

Today and tomorrow, our App State students are off enjoying some well-earned time away, which means downtown is wide open and parking is a breeze. 🚗✨

We love our Mountaineers, but we'll admit it: finding a spot on King Street gets a little easier when they're out of town. 😉

So grab a coffee, wander the shops, treat yourself to a long lunch, and enjoy a calmer downtown while you can. Come see us today or tomorrow!
