October is Community Action Energy Awareness Month, and we're celebrating a program that helps families stay warm, safe, and less worried about their utility bills. 🏡
Weatherization makes homes more energy efficient through upgrades like insulation, heating and cooling repairs, and sealing air leaks. Since the program began in 1976, more than seven million households nationwide have received Weatherization services.
The results add up. Families who receive Weatherization save an average of $372 or more every year on utility costs. That money can go toward groceries, medicine, or a car repair instead of a high energy bill.
At WAMY Community Action, our Weatherization team helps neighbors across Watauga, Avery, Mitchell, and Yancey counties lower their energy costs and stay comfortable all year.
Learn more about Weatherization and our other housing programs at www.wamycommunityaction.org.
Do you know someone struggling with high energy bills? Share this post so they know help is close to home.
