Yesterday, we had a great time participating in the Touch-a-Truck event in Ripley! ❤️ It was a wonderful opportunity to get out in the community, meet some amazing people, and let the kids get an up-close look at Tanker 8 and equipment.

Our Chief Tyler Pannell enjoyed explaining the equipment to everyone and giving a little insight into how Tanker 8 operates and the important role it plays in our department. 🚒 It’s always a great opportunity to educate our community and let others see a little more of what goes into serving and protecting them.

We also had Lieutenant Amber Pannell and Christina Britt participating alongside Chief Tyler Pannell, representing Dry Creek Fire & Rescue and enjoying a great day with the community!

A big thank-you to everyone who came out and to those who worked hard to organize this event. We appreciate every opportunity to connect with our community, teach the next generation about fire safety, and show what volunteer fire service is all about. ❤️🔥

From our Dry Creek family to yours, thank you for your continued support!

🕊️ Remembering Him Today

Today marks another year since we lost Gene, and this photo captures the kind of moments he loved — being outside, surrounded by his people, and full of life. Even though he’s gone, the impact he made on everyone in this picture — and far beyond it — is still felt every day.

We honor him today.
We miss him today.
And we carry his memory forward in the stories, the laughter, and the love he left behind.

🕯️ Rest easy. You’re never forgotten.

Honoring Capt. Gene Pannell

Today we remember the life of service and dedication shown by Captain Gene Pannell. Captain Pannell left this life on October 9, 2022. He was an example of service without ceasing. Donations to his memory can be made to the Gene Pannell Memorial Firefighters Fund either through our website or by mail to Dry Creek Vol. Fire Dept.

We have received several calls about smoke in our area. Just know that we are still under a BURN BAN. The smoke you are seeing is coming from a burn in Prentiss county that Forestry has located. Just because you are seeing the smoke doesn’t mean its ok to do any burning of your own. Thanks in advance.

🔥🔥BURN BAN ISSUED FOR TIPPAH COUNTY UNTIL OCTOBER 18th! 🔥🔥

🚨 DRY CREEK FIRE & RESCUE IS LOOKING FOR YOU! 🚨

Our community needs people who are willing to step up, serve, and make a difference. We are looking for new volunteers to join our fire department! 🧑‍🚒🔥

You don’t have to be a firefighter already. We will train you! What we need is someone with a good heart, a willingness to learn, and a desire to help their neighbors when they need it most.

Being a volunteer firefighter means being there when someone’s worst day happens. It means answering the call, helping your community, making lifelong friendships, and becoming part of a crew that has your back. ❤️‍🔥

Whether you’re interested in fighting fires, helping with medical calls, assisting during emergencies, or simply lending a hand around the department—there’s a place for you at Dry Creek.

🔥 Come join the crew.
🚒 Serve your community.
❤️ Make a difference.

If you’ve ever thought about becoming a volunteer firefighter, now is the time to take that first step!

We want to take a moment to thank EVERYONE who came out and supported our 2nd Annual Crawlin’ the Creek fundraiser! We had an amazing turnout, a successful ride, and a whole lot of fun! 🏁🛞💨

A special thank-you to all of the people who are always willing to show up, lend a hand, work behind the scenes, and do whatever needs to be done to make events like this happen. We truly couldn’t do it without you!

We hope to see this event continue to grow bigger and better every year, with more riders, more families, and even more support for your local volunteer fire department! 🔥

🇺🇸 NEVER FORGET — SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 🇺🇸

25 years later, we still remember.

We remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives that were taken. We remember the families who lost loved ones. We remember the courage of the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, military members, and countless civilians who ran toward the danger while others were running away.

As firefighters and first responders, September 11th holds a special place in our hearts. We honor the 343 FDNY firefighters and all of the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice that day. Their courage, selflessness, and dedication remind us of what it truly means to serve.

We also remember the men and women who continued the rescue and recovery efforts long after the towers fell — many of whom later paid the price with their health and their lives.

Today, we stand with our brothers and sisters across the fire service and first-responder community.

We remember the fallen.
We honor the heroes.
We pray for the families.
And we will NEVER FORGET.

🇺🇸 September 11, 2001 — Forever in our hearts.
