Our Book Blast has officially come to an end, and all prizes and books have been sent home with students! The best part? Every student at David Barton Elementary came home with at least one book! 🎉📖

Building home libraries and encouraging a love of reading are so important for our Pirates, and we hope your student has already opened their new book and started reading!

Don't forget to track those reading minutes on your student's reading log! Each time they fill an entire wheel, they earn a trip to the prize table! 🎁

Ms. Reagan and Ms. Zoey cashed in their PBIS tickets for the opportunity to serve as principal and assistant principal together! These four had so much fun working together and making the most of their time!

Their first order of business? Dressing up as the sharks and making a grand appearance! 🦈😂 They also conducted classroom observations, provided feedback to teachers, and helped tally the votes for our staff Crocktober Fest! 🍲🎃

Last week, our third graders took a walking field trip to downtown Boonville to explore our local community and see economics and government in action! Students had the opportunity to connect what they’ve been learning in the classroom to real-life experiences right here in their own community.

A BIG thank-you to Windy Nest, Southern Bank, Hotel Frederick, and Boonville City Hall for welcoming our students, sharing your knowledge, and helping bring their learning to life! Last week, Mrs. Williamson’s class earned a Compliment Party! 🥳 Students earn each letter of COMPLIMENT when other teachers and staff members catch them meeting expectations throughout the building. Once they earn all their letters, it’s time to celebrate!

Their reward of choice? A squishy and stuffy party! 🧸 What’s more fun than bringing your favorite squishies and stuffed animals to school and showing them off to your classmates?

We love seeing our students work hard, meet expectations, and celebrate their accomplishments together! Way to go, Mrs. Williamson’s class! Keep up the great work! 🌟👏

🏖️ Third Grade Beach Day!

Our third graders made a trip to the beach during lunch today! 🏝️ Students worked hard to meet cafeteria expectations each day, earning a piece of their sandcastle as they went. Once they completed their sandcastle, they earned a special beach-themed lunch to celebrate their achievements! 🏰🪣

We love seeing our Pirates make great choices, demonstrate positive behavior, and work toward a fun reward. Great job, third grade! You earned your day in the sun!

A Note from the David Barton Library!

Our first few Pirates have reached an exciting milestone in the 40 Book Reading Challenge by passing at least 10 of their 40 Accelerated Reader quizzes!

To celebrate their hard work and reading accomplishments, these students got to spin the prize wheel for a fun reward!

We are so proud of our readers for challenging themselves, building their skills, and working toward their goals.

Caroline cashed in her PBIS tickets for some special time as Principal alongside Mrs. Jackson! This has quickly become a favorite reward among our David Barton Pirates, and we love watching students get a behind-the-scenes look at how things work around the office.

From seeing the laminator in action (office magic! 😉) to helping with morning announcements and making classroom check-ins, Caroline got to experience a little bit of everything that keeps our school running!

We love giving our students these fun opportunities to learn, lead, and see their school from a whole new perspective!
