🚨 MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH 🚨

On Friday, September 11, at approximately 7:00 PM, officers responded to a head-on motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle traveling northbound crossed the center line and struck an SUV traveling southbound. The crash resulted in the roadway being closed for approximately an hour while emergency crews worked to assist those involved, investigate the crash, and safely clear the roadway.

One operator was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The operator of the southbound SUV declined medical transport.

The driver of the southbound SUV was alert and paying attention and attempted to avoid the oncoming vehicle but was unfortunately still struck. This incident serves as an important reminder of just how quickly things can happen on the road. Please stay alert, avoid distractions, and keep your attention on driving at all times.

We would like to thank the Boscawen Fire Department, Merrimack County Sheriff’s Office, and Rusty’s Towing for their assistance at the scene and for helping us get the roadway safely reopened.

Today, we were honored to receive a generous grant donation from Franklin Savings Bank in support of purchasing our department’s very first police e-bike!

This new addition will give our officers another valuable way to serve our community, allowing us to access local trails and areas that traditional patrol vehicles cannot easily reach. Whether providing routine patrols, assisting trail users, responding to an emergency, or simply connecting with members of our community, this e-bike will be a great resource for our department.

We cannot thank Franklin Savings Bank enough for their generosity and continued support of our department and the communities they serve. Partnerships like this make projects like this possible, and we are incredibly grateful to have their support.

We look forward to getting our new e-bike out on the trails soon! 🚲👮‍♀️

Please Welcome Our Newest Officer!

The Boscawen Police Department is proud to welcome Officer April Rivers to our team!

A New Hampshire native, Officer Rivers is excited to begin her career in law enforcement and serve the community she calls home. She will soon be attending the 204th New Hampshire Police Academy Class, where she will begin her training before returning to serve the residents of Boscawen.

The Boscawen Police Department is excited to reintroduce the "Good Morning Boscawen" program to the residents of Boscawen.

This program, which had been in effect for several years, is a free service that checks on citizens with health problems, the elderly, and those with disabilities who live alone.

Enrollment in the program requires completion of a brief agreement that the person filling out the application will contact the police department at (603) 753-9123, Sunday through Saturday from 8:00 - 10:00am. The person calling will simply need to state that they are checking in for the "Good Morning Boscawen" program.

If for some reason the police department does not have contact with the enrolled person by 10:00am, an officer will be dispatched to the residence to check the safety and welfare of the person. In most cases, there is no problem, the participant just forgot to call. However, occasionally the person might need some type of assistance in which case the officer may make entry into the residence. Each person enrolled in the program will be required to supply the police department with the location of a spare key for access to the residence in case of emergency.

We hope this program can provide some comfort to not only the enrollees but also their friends and family.
