4 VETERANS...WRAPPED IN A QUILT OF HONOR
Quilts of Honor Foundation Mission:
▪︎To cover service members and veterans touched by war in comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.
•The Goal is to offer a tangible token of appreciation and gratitude that says, "Thank you for your service and sacrifice in serving our nation".
•A Quilt of Valor is not a gift, it is formally awarded in a ceremony rather than given as a casual gift, and every presentation is officially recorded.
We were very fortunate to have Suzanne, representing Quilts of Honor, and her family join us.
Suzanne read a brief bio of each veteran before she and her husband wrapped them in a Quilt of Valor, finishing with a certificate presentation.
The quilts were incredibly beautiful. Suzanne shared that the ladies who make the quilts are all volunteers and quilts are made "from their heart". Completion times range anywhere from 3 days to several weeks depending on volunteers schedules and quilt complexity. We are sincerely grateful for their love, attention to detail, and generosity of time.
We genuinely thank Suzanne and her family for making the trip for the Quilts Of Valor award cermony.
As always, it is such a pleasure, and an honor, to spend time together, enjoying lunch, talking and laughing.
Thank you's go to:
Lavetra and Terri for helping prep, serve, and clean up, Chris for running errands and transport, and Greg for manning the grill.
