We saw quite a few MAWLE members at the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics tonight! With $1,300,000 raised, that giant check was still not the most exciting part of the evening. Getting a high five from the athletes was the highlight of the event, I think the Officers were more excited than the athletic teams to take part!

We love to see this type of history being made! A couple of the women from the Somerville Police Department leading the troops, an inspiration to Officers still early in their careers!

"Ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, local, state, federal, and community partners are working together to strengthen Massachusetts’ response to human trafficking before, during, and after the tournament." -MA Executive Office of Public Safety and Security

As MA will be hosting several World Cup matches at Gillette Stadium and countless large-scale viewing parties across the state, our CAC's Support to End Exploitation Now (SEEN) team has been working tirelessly to prepare for a potential increase in commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC). MA expects to see large crowds, an added burden on law enforcement partners, and increased anonymity for buyers and traffickers - and ultimately a higher demand for CSEC.

Our CAC is proud to be part of the well-established CSEC Multidisciplinary Response system that exists across MA, rooted in the state's 12 CACs, and to have contributed to the development of this infrastructure, as well as the trauma-informed response to child victims, over the past 20 years. The most vulnerable among us - children and youth - face some of the highest risks.

SEEN's World Cup preparations include collaborating with the MA Executive Office of Public Safety and Security's multi-agency working group to plan for a child-centered response, and to support frontline training, youth engagement, and public awareness.
