Meet Daisy and Ollie! These two pups are both masters at cozying in for a long weekend. We have it on good authority that Daisy even prefers to have TWO pillows for all her naps. Now that’s the fine life. 😴

Daisy and Ollie were submitted by library patron Kyrah! We post a library community pet each . Some are submitted by Boston Public Library staff, and others are from library patrons.
Do you have a pet - even a foster pet! - you'd like to submit? (Feline status not required.) Send us an in-focus photo and a fun fact about your animal by DM or to [email protected]. No human faces, please.

DEADLINE: June 15, 2026!
Not to be dramatic, but your art could end up on our next library card 🤭
The BPL is inviting artists of all ages to take part in a Library Card Design contest in celebration of Library Card Sign-Up Month this September!
🎨 How does it work?
One adult (18+), one teen (13-17), and one youth (0-12) winner will have their original artwork featured on official BPL cards in circulation during 2026-2027.
👥 Who can enter?
The contest is open to all BPL cardholders, with one entry permitted per person. The submitted entry must be the creative and original work of a single individual. No AI-generated content will be allowed.
🖌️ What do you submit?
An original design that reflects what the library means to you and your community — perhaps an interpretation of our motto “Free to All”?
